Fair Equb draws: why transparency matters
By EqubBet team
The draw decides who receives the pot. Here is how to make sure every member trusts the result.
The draw is the most exciting moment in an Equb — and the moment most likely to cause disagreement. A fair draw has three parts: the right list of eligible shares, a method everyone understands, and witnesses.
Start with the eligible list
Before the draw, confirm which shares are eligible: shares that have not yet won in this cycle. A share that has already won keeps contributing but cannot win again in the same cycle.
Use a method everyone agreed to
Paper slips in a bowl, a spinning wheel, numbered balls — the method matters less than agreement. Decide it in the group's rules and use it every round.
Invite witnesses
Ask two or three members to watch the draw and confirm the result. If members cannot attend, a live online draw lets them watch from anywhere.
Record the result immediately
Write down the round, the winning share, the time, the witnesses and the eligible list. Announce the result to everyone the same day.
When the group chooses instead of drawing
Sometimes members agree that someone with an urgent need should receive the pot. That can be fair — but it is a manual assignment, not a random draw, and it should be recorded that way with every member's approval.
Conclusion
When every member can see who was eligible, how the winner was chosen and who witnessed it, the result is accepted — even by those who hoped to win this round.
